Now hiring a vision scientist with interest in myopia control treatment strategies 


Manhattan Vision Associates/Institute for Vision Research in New York City is currently looking for a full-time clinical vision scientist with interest in developing and testing medical devices for the pediatric population. Candidates interested in myopia control or management are highly encouraged to apply.
 


Job responsibilities 

  • Be involved in all areas of industrial research setting/clinical trial, including preparing SOPs, planning methodology/protocol, subject/patient recruitment, managing studies, clinical data collection, (cycloplegia, axial length, choroidal thickness), data visualization, analysis and reporting, and study closures. 
  • Performing literature review and consulting on various problems encountered by the industry sponsors. 
  • Providing expert clinical guidance towards research and development  
  • Performing multiple proof of concept studies guiding the product labelling and instruction for use. 
  • Communicating study details and status with the sponsors/ IRB and other regulatory agencies
  • Writing manuscripts for publication 
  • Other responsibilities as delegated by the Principal Investigator  


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

  • A graduate degree in optometry or Vision Science (OD, MS, or PhD) 


Preferred qualifications
 

  • Academic or clinical interest in myopia management, contact lenses, smart spectacles 
  • Industry experience  
  • Experience working with pediatric clinical population
