Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is family-owned veterinary hospital and we are seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Ophthalmology team in Brandon, Florida. If you have a passion for helping pets with eye-related issues and a desire to work alongside a skilled team in a supportive environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!Responsibilities
- Assist our board-certified Ophthalmologist in performing eye examinations, diagnosing ocular conditions, and planning treatments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Perform diagnostic tests including tonometry, fluorescein staining, digital imaging, and ultrasound as needed.
- Monitor anesthetized patients during surgical procedures and assist in post-operative care.
- Educate pet owners about eye health, treatment plans, and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Participate in continuing education and stay updated on advancements in veterinary ophthalmology.
Ideal Candidate
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) is preferred.
- Experience in veterinary ophthalmology is a plus.
- Ability to perform and monitor anesthesia.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort handling a variety of animals.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work holidays and on-call shifts.
